Hear ye! Hear ye! It’s time to announce……ok you see where I was going there. Today is the day Cinderella waltzes into theaters. I know when I heard they were putting this into Production I was a little nervous. Maleficent took the world by storm and I was ready for another live action film. Yest, I had reservations. I hoped they kept MY Cinderella in tact. I grew up watching the animated version just like many others and I hoped the feel would stay in tact.

Within the first 10 minutes I was in love. I was humming along with Ella. I was entranced with the visuals. The costumes, the set, the actors just came in and took over the story and I didn’t have any time to worry. THIS Cinderella was a girl who loved her parents with all her heart. THIS Cinderella believing in Having courage and being Kind. I fell in love with this Cinderella quickly.

The story was right on track. A few differences here and there, but nothing big. You meet Lady Tremaine and her daughters. While “Evil” is not uttered it is shown that she is worse….she and the stepsisters are cruel. So what’s our girl to do? Why fin her fairy Godmother of course and after some fun and some magic she is off to the Ball!

What a Ball it is. Everyone is dressed to the nines trying to capture the prince’s attention. It was said he was to find a princess at the ball after all, but that was before he met the mysterious girl. Lots of waltzes ensue, some laughter, a bit of love. We have intrigue at the castle and of course we can’t forget about looking for the infamous maiden who fits the glass slipper.

So see. I gave you no spoilers, but you can see that all of the important parts of the Cinderella you love is still in the movie. It’s a heartwarming Disney movie that gives you the goosbumps, makes you smile and laugh, and makes you leave the theater wanting more. I’ve seen the film twice and I’m going again!
