Earlier this month I headed to Emeryville California for my Freshman Orientation to MU aka Monsters University aka the Pixar Campus. As soon as we unloaded off the bus we were immersed in campus life. Pixar and Disney do this to the MAX. We had a marching band, cheerleaders, and even clubs waiting for us to join up. You could feel the school vibe all around.

Even Squishy’s Mom from the movie was there welcoming us with laughter and hugs. ![]()
I loved how detailed everything was. Even the flyers put up had me excited. I would love to attend the Scare Games!
I checked in at the Student Lounge and got my OFFICIAL MU ID Card! Guess who was waiting there on me? None other than my classmates James. P (Sully) Sullivan and Mike Wazowski Sully has been part of my family life for years. I showed you guys pictures of Gabriel dressing up as him for Halloween and I’ve personally seen the first Monsters Inc. movie a gazillion times or more. Of course, I had to give him a Big ‘Ole Southern Kiss.
Then it was off to my classes which included: English 101, Sociology 203, Anthropology 152, Dramatic Arts, and Psychics 250. All of which I’ll post about in detail soon!

We also took time out for a Scare Demonstration. Let me preface this by saying I was losing my voice this day so my scream may have not been 100%. I think I’m definitely on the way to becoming a scare-er.
Then it was LUNCH TIME! We had a yummy TailGate Lunch on the quad where the Drum Core were playing and the Cheerleaders provided entertainment. The food wasn’t too shabby either!

Then we proceeded to our interviews which I’ll share in a few weeks. Overall it was a great day. Truly memorable and one for the record books. I get chills going back through my pictures and pinch myself because it almost feels like it was a dream. The only thing I didn’t have time to do? Play Fear Pong. As my son says, “It would have been EPIC!”

Screaming with laughter and oozing with heart, Disney•Pixar’s “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”), produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”) and features music from future Rock-and-Roll-Hall-of-Fame–inductee and award winning composer Randy Newman (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Toy Story 3”). The film opens in U.S. theaters on June 21, 2013, and will be shown in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
