As of yesterday there is nothing of ours left in the old house. It is either here or in storage. It made me a little sad going through the last closet. Seeing an old picture or a token of remembrance from some past event. 8 years in one place is a long time. In fact the longest I have ever spent in one place. Both of the kids spent most of their childhoods there. Yet, now that we are done with that house I can smile today. I feel like I can breathe again. I have a little bit of excited energy floating around. This morning after the kids went to school I found myself staring at the Morning Dew with joy in my heart. I think this will be a good thing.

I know how you feel. Sometimes it is so hard to let go but I can see you have a really positive, healthy attitude. I still live in the same house I grew up in and I don’t know how I will feel to leave it.
It’s hard to start over again. Hugs

Moving is often bittersweet, especially when you raised your kids in a house. We looked at a house about 2 years ago that was really great, and I was really excited about it. We didn’t end up buying it (too expensive), but I was really surprised to find that, even though it was much better than our current home, my kids were happy. They didn’t want to move. They were too attached to the house they think of as “home”. Go figure.
