Pets of any sorts are great. They are your companions. Your friends. Part of your family. Over the years I have had fish, birds, dogs, cats, and even a guinea pig. My favorite dog was one that just walked up one day. I was about 8 years old and immediately fell in love. She had no tags, but my mama said we couldn’t keep her and we had to find her a good home. Then we found out the dog was pregnant. I wanted puppies so bad! We had numerous cats over the years, but I had never seen true puppies first born. Mama agreed and we even named the dog “Mama”. Mama was a mutt, but she was beautiful and gave us 5 healthy puppies. We gave 4 of them away and kept one little girl. They both were with us for the rest of my childhood. It just goes to show you can never know when a wonderful pet can walk in and change your life. That’s my “Great Dog” Story and now Purina wants to hear yours!

From now until August 27, 2012, pet owners can upload a short film, less than two minutes in length, to the Pro Plan YouTube channel. The grand prize winner who best captures their dog’s inherent greatness will have their winning video featured in a Pro Plan commercial.
