Review and ***Giveaway***: Ice Age 3 Dawn of The Dinosaurs

Monday, January 4, 2010 359 Post-It Notes

Ice Age has always held a special place in my heart as it was the first movie we took Isabella to see in the theater. We made it *almost* through the whole movie which was amazing because it actually held her attention that long.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs was recently released on DVD and it is just as good as the first one. In this new adventure Scrat is still trying to nab the ever-elusive nut (while, maybe, finding true love); Manny and Ellie await the birth of their mini-mammoth; Diego the Saber-toothed Tiger wonder if he's growing too "soft" hanging with this pals and Sid the Sloth gets into trouble when he creates his own makeshift family by hijacking some dinosaur eggs. On a mission to rescue the hapless Sid, the gang ventures into a mysterious underground world, where they have some close encounters with dinosaurs, battle flora and fauna, run amuck, and meet a relentless, one-eyed, dino-hunting weasel named buck. So as you can tell it's quite the adventure!

I remember exactly what my oldest Jacob's first movie in the theater was..X-files the Movie. I was on my way up from Savannah to West Virginia alone with him when he was just a baby and my air conditioner broke in my car. It was literally 100 degrees at high noon and we both were miserable so I pulled into the first mall I came to and found a nice air conditoned theater where the X-files was playing. So that was my son's first movie!

First was when he was 3 and that was Wall-E. He was transfixed, but mostly because the screen was much bigger than our TV at home.

Second movie was Ice Age 3, which is one of his favorite series. We have 1 and 2, but having 3 would make his year. I can guarantee he would wear out the disk before he was through with it.

    Thanks and Happy New Year!
