Review and ***Giveaway***: 3 Month BookSwim Membership

Saturday, December 5, 2009 57 Post-It Notes

Most anyone who knows me can tell you that I'm an avid reader. I LOVE to read. I could go through 2 books a week easily. Which at $10-$20 a pop can get to be an expensive habit. Some say "just go to the library" Here's a secret. I NEVER return my library books on time. EVER. Even though I may be done there is always some reason why I am late and our local branch charges overdue fees. So when I heard about a new book program called BookSwim I was intrigued. Basically it's netflix for books.

They have different plans depending on your reading habits with the lowest plan starting at only $9.95. It IS billed automatically so remember that when you sign up. The great thing about BookSwim is you don't have to pay shipping, you return the book when YOU are done, and then they ship you out the next book in your queue. Awesome right? PLUS if you decide you really like a book you can opt to keep in and just pay for it! I am on the 3 books at a time program and just received my first shipment. A Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Alice Sebold. I've finished the first 2 and plan to mail them back on Monday.

Now onto the GIVEAWAY!

What a GREAT idea! Netflix isn't up my alley, but book rentals certainly appeals!

I looked at the site and found one of my favorite authors, Faye Kellerman, wrote a new Peter and Rina Decker book. Blindman's Bluff would be the first thing I'd borrow from Book Swim.

I was hoping to find Pat Conroy's latest book, but since I didn't, I'd love to read The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. I know the movie is out, but I hate to see a movie before I read the book. 99% of the time, the book is so much better than the movie.

I love the whole idea behind this concept!

I want to re-read Breaking Dawn. I actually owned it BUT lent it to a friend who lent it to a friend and I have not gotten it back so this would be perfect!!!
